China Sold 810,000 Units Heavy-duty Trucks in H1
China's heavy truck market reported record sales in the first six months as the phase-out of heavy emission vehicles and greater efforts in overload control boosted purchases, industry data showed.
During the first half of this year, heavy truck sales amounted to around 810,000 units, rising 23 percent from the previous year, according to an auto industry information service provider.
An estimated 165,000 heavy trucks were sold in June, surging 59 percent year on year.
FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd., a truck subsidiary of Changchun-headquartered FAW Group, continued to lead the market with 38,000 heavy trucks sold last month, increasing 67 percent year on year.
An analyst from Guotai Junan Securities said that driven by strict policies for high emission vehicles, the annual sales of heavy trucks in 2020 are expected to see year-on-year growth of over 15 percent. Enditem
