Production and Sales of Medium Trucks and Heavy Trucks in May

www.chinatrucks.com: Statistics of CAAM indicated that Chinese truck manufacturers produced 276,464 units and sold 272,123 units of trucks (incomplete truck and semi-tractor and trailer included) in May, 2014, down by 21.18% and 21.31% respectively over last month, and down by 11.38% and 13.46% respectively year on year.

Production and sales of heavy trucks:

In May, the production and sales volumes of heavy trucks (incomplete truck and semi-tractor and trailer included) were 75,712 units and 73,921 units, down by 12.52% and 16.03% respectively compared with last month, up by 0.93% and down by 4.35% respectively year on year.

And top 5 heavy truck makers on production were DONGFENG, SINOTRUCK, FAW, FOTON and SHACMAN, that their production volumes in sequence were 17,598 units, 12,045 units, 13,182 units, 11,078 units and 9,057 units, and they totally produced 62,960 units, taking 83.16% shares.

According to the chart, top 5 heavy trucks companies made fewer units of truck than they did in the last month. Productions of SHACMAN and FAW were down by 6.21% and 2.81% respectively year on year. While SINOTRUCK, DONGFENG and FOTON ranked first to third place of production growth in the chart, up by 35.63%, 9.13% and 0.24% respectively over last year.

Top 5 heavy truck manufacturers on sales were DONGFENG, SINOTRUCK, FAW FOTON and SHACMAN, that their sales volumes in sequence were 15,091 units, 12,377 units, 12024 units, 11,484 units and 10018 units, and all together they sold 60,994 units, taking 82.51% shares of the total 73,921 units sales volumes.

According to the chart, the sales of top 5 makers all decreased more than 15% than last month. Compared with last year, the sales volume of heavy trucks was down by 4.35%, only FOTON and SINOTRUCK sold more trucks, up by 7.45% and 2.16% respectively year on year. According to the statistics, heavy truck market became cooling from May.

Production and sales of medium trucks:

In May, the production and sales volumes of medium trucks (incomplete truck included) were 19,306 units and 19,015 units, down by 26.26% and 27.94% respectively compared with last month, down by 21.73% and 29.90% respectively year on year.

And top 5 medium truck makers on production were DONGFENG, FAW, SINOTRUCK, LIFAN and QINGLING, that their production volumes in sequence were 6,629 units, 3,849 units, 2,172 units, 1,675 units and 1,661 units, and they totally produced 15,986 units, taking 82.80% shares.

According to the chart, the production volumes of all top 5 companies went down over last month. And FAW was the only manufacturer which increased its production by 0.37% over last year.
