Market Analysis of Light Trucks Q1 to Q3 and Sales Forecast Ⅰ
www.chinatrucks.com: Sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles in China decreased in the first nine months affected by withdrawal of sales promotion in rural areas and rising fuel price.
Sales of light trucks increased in Jan. and Feb. over last year, and the sales decreased from March to Sept. over that of 2010.
There were 33 light trucks makers in China this year, and four of them sold 100,000 more light trucks, including Foton, Dongfeng, JAC and Jinbei, and 755,905 light trucks were sold by them, down 1.03%, taking 52.39% market shares. Sales of JAC increased by 6.04%, and Jinbei increased by 12.34%, and sales of Foton and Dongfeng decreased by 8.15% and 1.12%.
There are 16 light trucks makers with sales volumes between 10,000 units to 100,000 units from Jan. to Sept., and their total sales were 656,621 units, down 7.62%, and their market shares were 45.51%. The sales of the rest 13 light truck makers were 30,260 units, down 30%.
Sales of Dongfeng, JAC, Great Wall, JMC, Qingling, FAW, and Beiqi increased from Jan. to Sept. 639,392 light trucks were sold, up 2.42%, and their market shares were 44.32%, up 3.29%. Sales of Dongfeng and FAW decreased. Great Wall Motors and Qingling increased to some extent.
There were fourteen original agricultural vehicle makers like Foton, Jinbei, Yuejin, Kaima, Tangjun Ouling, Lifan, Heibao, Nanjun, Feidie, Dayun, First Tractor, Huashan, Xin Longma, Wangpai etc. and their sales decreased. 692,849 light trucks were sold by them, down 8.49%, and their market shares were 48.02%.
There are ten light truck makers whose sales were worse then last year, including Heibao, -35.81%, Xin Longma, -35.03%, Wangpai, -38.45%, Kaima, -21.31%, Tangjun Ouling, -20.3%, Lifan, -19.35%, and there were just Jinbei (12.34%), First Tractor (43.2%), Feidie (26.12%)and Dayun (11.28%).
Sales of mini trucks makers like Changan, ZX, Changhe and Tianqi decreased from Jan. to Sept. with the withdrawal of stimulation policies. 80,243 trucks were sold by them, -15.44%. And their market shares were 5.56%, down 0.68%.
Generally speaking, sales of light trucks, R&D of new products, production capacity, and sales promotions slowed down over last year. Sales of light trucks with heavier carrying capacity decreased, and sales of petrol light trucks decreased dramatically.
