JMC Unveils New E-Fushun and E-Shunda Electric Commercial Vehicles
On November 15, JMC made a strong debut at the Guangzhou International Auto Show, showcasing its impressive lineup of products. At the "Journey with the Strivers" launch event, the all-new electric commercial vehicles E-Fushun and E-Shunda caught the attention of many. Key leaders from Jiangling Group and Jiangling Motors, including Party Secretary and Chairman Qiu Tiangao, Ford China Vice President of Product Development Jame Hughes, and other senior executives, attended the event.
"Journey with the Fighters" is not only the theme of the event, but also reflects JMC's commitment to supporting the hard-working individuals in logistics. To make this vision a reality, JMC assembled a team of 1,000 engineers who worked tirelessly for over 1,200 days. They conducted extensive research across 36 industries and 210 market segments to better understand the needs of logistics workers. The result is a brand-new electric vehicle platform designed specifically for this group. This platform utilizes JMC’s latest electric vehicle architecture to offer a full range of electric commercial vehicles for the global market, with core values focused on fuel efficiency, user-centric design, and top quality.
The new platform integrates a centralized control system with nine modules working together efficiently, along with a highly integrated battery and coaxial electric drive system, which reduces the vehicle's weight by 43 kg. With features such as ultra-low drag design and energy recovery braking systems, the platform includes 22 advanced technologies, including JMCs self-developed energy recovery algorithms, which have received national patents. These innovations help reduce the vehicle’s energy consumption by 12%, setting an industry-leading standard.
In addition to improving energy efficiency, the platform significantly boosts cargo capacity. The E-Fushun offers a spacious loading area ranging from 7-10 cubic meters, with energy consumption as low as 15.8 kWh per 100 kilometers. The E-Shunda consumes just 18.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, with an energy cost of less than 0.2 RMB per kilometer, making it an excellent "money-saving tool." The two vehicles offer a range of 220 to 500 kilometers, making them well-suited for urban distribution scenarios, so drivers don’t need to worry about range.
For city delivery drivers, a good vehicle not only needs to save money but also provide safety and comfort. The new vehicles feature a high-strength steel body with a steel ratio of up to 77%. The vehicles also pass 14 crash and high-voltage safety tests for the battery pack, meeting EU ENCAP collision safety standards. Additionally, they are equipped with advanced electronic hydraulic braking (EHB) systems that reduce the braking distance by 3 meters at a speed of 80 km/h, significantly improving safety.
The spacious cabin ensures comfort, even for users up to 1.88 meters tall. The E-Fushun is equipped with a rare three-seat front row, catering to diverse user needs. The E-Shunda’s co-driver seat reclines to an angle of 36°, offering comfort similar to first-class seats on high-speed trains. The cabin also provides an excellent view, with electronic power steering and reverse camera for added safety.
The new vehicles feature a double-reinforced body design, using high-quality galvanized steel plates for the outer layer, meeting European anti-corrosion standards of ten years rust-free, far exceeding domestic standards. The vehicles have undergone extreme testing of 3.18 million kilometers, covering 36 typical road conditions and over 60 cities, ensuring exceptional quality.
On the smart technology front, JMC utilizes digital twin technology, shared with leading global passenger car manufacturers, ensuring 95% process coverage and manufacturing precision of up to 0.1mm. The entire process is digitally managed, with quality control handled through a premium supply chain to guarantee product excellence.
With efficiency, safety, comfort, and outstanding quality, JMC’s E-Fushun and E-Shunda platforms set a new benchmark in urban distribution. These vehicles not only offer exceptional performance but also cater to the needs of every user, providing logistics workers with an ideal transportation choice and supporting their ongoing journey.
