GEELY AUTO Rolls out First Electric Pickup Truck in Thai
On October 29, Geely Radar officially launched its first all-electric pickup truck, the RIDDARA RD6, in Thailand. This marks the introduction of Thailand's first all-electric pickup and represents a significant step forward in Geely Radar's global strategy.
At the launch event, CEO Ling Shiquan stated that as a leader in the new energy pickup market, Geely Radar is committed to transforming Thailand's automotive industry. The new truck is designed to provide users with a unique experience—"driving like an SUV, using like a pickup"—to meet the needs of young families.
Geely Radar has shown strong performance in the new energy pickup market, aligning with global trends toward electrification and smart technology. In recent years, Thailand has implemented policies to promote the development of electric vehicles. While electric cars are gradually entering the market, traditional pickups have struggled to keep pace with the shift toward new energy, falling short of consumer demands for comfort and handling.
To adapt to the Thai market, Geely Radar spent two years developing and testing the RIDDARA RD6 on the M.A.P radar platform, ensuring it performs well on Thailand's diverse roads and in its hot, rainy climate. The truck is designed to meet users' needs for daily commuting and outdoor activities.
In China, Geely Radar has also excelled, consistently ranking as the top seller of new energy pickups. With multifunctional capabilities and efficient power supply technology, Geely Radar provides users with various smart solutions that enhance their quality of life.
Currently, Geely Radar is expanding its market presence in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, gaining recognition from local consumers and entering a "new era of all-electric pickups."
The RIDDARA RD6 is one of the fastest all-electric pickups, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h and excellent power handling. Its independent suspension system ensures stability during driving. In terms of safety, the truck features over 70% high-strength steel, a braking distance of only 38 meters, and robust battery protection, maximizing user safety.
The RIDDARA RD6 also excels in Thailand's mountainous terrain, with a maximum climbing ability of 95% and a water wading depth of 815 mm, making it capable of handling flood conditions. Additionally, its power supply technology allows users to power devices for outdoor activities like picnics and camping.
With the advancement of its global strategy, Geely Radar is not only bringing a groundbreaking all-electric pickup to the Thai market but also enhancing the outdoor travel experience for young families. Moving forward, Geely Radar will continue to focus on the new energy sector, addressing diverse global user needs and driving innovation in products and smart technology to provide a superior experience for pickup truck users worldwide.
