Business Delegation from Developing Countries Visits Foton Motor
Delegation of business leaders from nine developing countries, including Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius, and Gambia, visited Foton Motor to engage in a unique business exchange program. This event highlighted their keen interest and expectations for China's automotive manufacturing industry.
The training program, primarily composed of business professionals from developing nations, aimed to enhance leadership skills and foster collaboration. By leveraging various platforms and resources, the program promotes resource exchange and experience sharing between China and other developing countries, establishing a robust communication framework for win-win cooperation. During this exchange, participants toured Foton Motor to learn about cutting-edge technology and management practices within the Chinese automotive sector.
The first stop for the trainees was the Foton Cummins factory. Renowned as a leading production base for advanced diesel engines, the factory combines over a century of Cummins’ expertise to manufacture light and heavy-duty engines that comply with Euro III to Euro VI emission standards, as well as the highest global non-road Phase IV standards. The trainees gained valuable insights into Foton Cummins' production processes, quality control measures, and product performance, expressing their admiration for the company's innovative achievements and technical capabilities.
Following the factory visit, the group explored Foton Motor's X-Lab and digital exhibition hall. The X-Lab features 15 specialized laboratories focused on various fields such as NVH, EMC, new energy, and intelligent networking, complemented by an R&D test track. Equipped with advanced testing technologies, these facilities represent the cutting edge of commercial vehicle testing. The digital exhibition hall showcased Foton Motor’s history and technological advancements, sparking strong interest in innovations such as super powertrains, vehicle networking, and autonomous driving.
During an exchange meeting, participants engaged in detailed discussions with Foton Motor's core business personnel. Representatives provided insights into the company’s global market strategy, particularly its initiatives in Africa. Through cost-effective products and comprehensive service solutions, Foton Motor aims to support transportation upgrades in developing countries while fostering local economic growth through technology transfer, capacity building, and talent development. The discussions covered specific needs of developing nations, competitive landscapes, and future industry trends. Participants noted that the exchange not only deepened their understanding of Foton Motor’s global strategy but also offered valuable perspectives on international business opportunities, leading to anticipation for future collaborations.
This business exchange not only enhanced the understanding of Foton Motor's technical strengths and management practices among the participants but also laid a strong foundation for future partnerships.
