Yuchai Showcases Low-Carbon Power at 2024 Internal Combustion Engine Show
On October 11, 2024, the China International Internal Combustion Engine and Power Equipment Expo kicked off in Beijing, lasting three days. Yuchai displayed several new products, including diesel engines that meet the latest fuel consumption standards, high-power gas engines, and the largest methanol engine in the country, highlighting its innovations in both traditional and renewable energy technologies.
At the expo, Yuchai showcased its second-generation National VI diesel engines, the YCK09L and YCY25, which fully comply with the newest fuel consumption standards.
In the gas engine category, Yuchai's YCK15N high-power gas engine stands out as a top performer. It features the country's first TOP-DOWN cooling system and anti-freezing heat management technology, significantly improving reliability. This engine can start at temperatures as low as -40 degrees, setting a global record for low-temperature starts in gas engines. It also consumes 6% less fuel than competitors, saving users nearly 20,000 yuan in fuel costs each year.
Additionally, the YCK16 engine was displayed, designed for mining trucks, heavy excavators, and large agricultural equipment. With a displacement of 16 liters and a power range of 560 to 775 horsepower, it emphasizes modular and lightweight design. It has a lifespan exceeding 30,000 hours and is suitable for 105 to 130-ton mining trucks and 70 to 95-ton excavators, making it highly competitive in the market. The Yuchai YC12VTD generator uses high-pressure common rail technology, making it lightweight, compact, and fuel-efficient, receiving positive reviews and selling well both domestically and internationally.
Yuchai’s renewable energy products also attracted attention, including China's first commercial hydrogen fuel engine, the K05H, the largest methanol engine, the YCK15M, as well as advanced fuel cell systems and pure electric truck drive systems.
During the expo, Yuchai was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award for the 30th Anniversary of the Expo, the highest honor of the event. The YCK15N high-power gas engine also received the Best Innovative Power Star award for its exceptional quality.
At the same time, Yuchai shared its latest achievements in hydrogen internal combustion engine research at the China Internal Combustion Engine Technology Innovation Conference held during the expo.
