Geely Radar Expands in Thailand with Strengthened Partnerships
On August 5, a group of Thai dealership representatives visited China for the first time to explore Geely Radar’s headquarters and Zibo Smart Factory. During the visit, they learned about the company’s advanced technology and products. After test-driving the all-electric Radar Horizon 4WD pickup truck, the Thai representatives were impressed by its outstanding performance. In front of the Thai media, Geely Radar signed partnership agreements with these dealers, marking a significant step in entering the Thai market and furthering the company’s global expansion.
At the signing ceremony, the Thai representatives praised Geely Radar’s focus on clean energy and environmentally friendly products. As a new energy brand under the Geely Holding Group, Geely Radar promotes the use of green energy and aims to offer customers a sustainable and eco-friendly outdoor experience. This vision aligns perfectly with Thailand’s push for vehicle electrification. Thai media also noted that the Radar Horizon not only retains the traditional utility of pickup trucks but also delivers superior power and driving experience thanks to its electric drivetrain.
Thailand is one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, with pickups holding a 40% share of the vehicle market. While traditional fuel-powered trucks still dominate, the Thai government's recent policies supporting electric vehicles could reshape this landscape.
Given Thailand's mountainous terrain and hot, humid climate, electric vehicles need to meet high performance standards. Geely Radar’s M.A.P. Radar platform, developed in-house, powers vehicles like the Radar RD6 and Radar Horizon. These trucks combine top-tier pickup technology with advanced electric features, offering excellent all-terrain capabilities, strong acceleration, and climbing performance—perfect for the Thai market.
Geely Radar’s products also have impressive versatility, with features like industry-leading external power supply options, ideal for outdoor activities. With Thailand’s vibrant night market culture, many Thai dealers believe that Geely Radar’s solutions will find great success, particularly for mobile businesses like food trucks.
As a leader in China’s new energy pickup sector, Geely Radar continues to enhance outdoor working and lifestyle experiences. The company has recently launched new models, including the Radar RD6 Champion Edition, Startup Edition, Tech Edition, and the all-electric 4WD Radar Horizon, covering a price range of ¥130,000 to ¥260,000 to meet diverse customer needs.
The successful signing of agreements with Thai dealers deepens the partnership between both sides. Geely Radar is set to compete directly with traditional fuel-powered pickups in Thailand, driving the country’s automotive industry transformation and expanding its footprint across Southeast Asia and the Pacific regions.
