IAA 2024: Microvast Unveils Advanced Battery Solutions
At the IAA Transportation in Hannover, Microvast showcased its latest high-performance battery solutions designed for electric commercial vehicles. The new products include silicon-based HnSO batteries, lithium titanate (LTO) batteries, and the third-generation MV-I battery pack. These innovations aim to provide high energy density, safety, and long lifespan.
Key Highlights:
HnSO Battery: Offers an energy density of up to 300 Wh/kg and more than 4,000 charge cycles, making it ideal for long-range Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs).
LTO Battery: Known for its energy density of 100 Wh/kg and a remarkable lifespan of up to 20,000 charge cycles, it is optimized for ultra-high power applications.
MV-I Battery Pack: Provides an energy density of 200 Wh/kg and over 5,000 charge cycles, integrated with the fifth-generation Battery Management System (BMS) that meets ISO 26262 ASIL-C and cybersecurity standards.
Microvast's BMS 5.0 is designed to maximize safety and ensure the highest levels of security for electric vehicles. Dr. Wenjuan Mattis, Chief Technology Officer, highlighted that these innovations represent a significant leap forward for electric commercial vehicles, enhancing both operational efficiency and battery lifespan.
By offering a complete range of scalable battery products, Microvast is setting a new standard in electric vehicle technology. Their approach, which integrates everything from raw materials to finished solutions, allows them to effectively meet the unique needs of various commercial operations.
Dr. Mattis further noted, “Our new battery technology not only delivers higher energy density and fast charging capabilities but also significantly improves operational efficiency and extends battery life.”
Stefan Herr, Executive Vice President for EMEA, emphasized, “Our innovative battery technology is just the beginning. We provide comprehensive solutions, from customized energy systems to ongoing support and optimization. Our commitment goes beyond delivering advanced technology; we aim to build reliable partnerships that help electric vehicle manufacturers and operators achieve efficient and stable operations.”
