US$80 Million! XCMG Announced Its Second Plant in Mexico
XCMG, a Chinese heavy machinery and construction equipment company, has announced that it will invest $80 million in a new plant in Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León, Mexico, which is expected to generate approximately 300 new jobs "
XCMG entered the state of Nuevo León in 2021 with operations in the city of Escobedo, and in 2022, XCMG announced the construction of its first plant in Mexico in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, which will produce scissor lifts (MEWPs) primarily for the North American market.
The new plant in Ciénega de Flores will be the company's second production facility in Mexico.
The event was attended by Ivan Rivas, Minister of Economy of the State of Nuevo Leon, Emmanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economy, and Li Qianjin, General Manager of XCMG Fire & Safety Equipment Company, as well as other senior executives of the group.
"When a company expands its operations, it confirms that Nuevo León offers investors a unique competitive advantage", said Iván Rivas Rodríguez.
In recent years, Nuevo León has attracted several Asian companies to invest here. Last July, motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle manufacturer Spring Dynamics (CFMoto) began operations in Apodaca, the company's first plant outside of Asia, which aims to supply the Mexican and North American markets.
