FOTON Teams with Yierkeshtan Port to Promote “The Belt and Road”
On March 2rd 2024, a range of leaders, including heads of FOTON Motor, Kexu Irkeshtan Port Park Investment Company, Wuqia Songyuan Logistics and Kashgar Hongcheng Yuanjing gathered to exchange views on the export modes in Yierkeshtan Port Park.
Statistics issued by frontier inspection station showed that the annual clearance volume in Yierkeshtan port continued to rise, with more than 120,000 vehicles inspected and released in 2023. Many records have been broken, such as daily release volume of up to 800 units.
According to Foton, it will work closely with Yierkeshtan Port to facilitate the export of brand new and second-hand vehicles and promote greener and more efficient logistic services. Meanwhile, it will provide trucks for Xinjiang to help the autonomous region improve its supply chain and cut logistic costs.
Wuqia Songyuan Logistics is specialized in transporting and exporting vehicles and various commodities to Central Asian countries. Foton Auman heavy-duty trucks have long gained recognition from the logistic company. The two parties are determined to work together and increase the export volume of brand new and second-hand vehicles to Central Asia.
In 2024, five departments including the Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement on matters related to the export of second-hand vehicles to ensure the healthy and orderly development of second-hand vehicle export. Starting from March 1, Xinjiang will open the declaration for enterprises exporting used vehicles. China’s used cars are mainly exported to the five Central Asian countries, Africa and some Southeast Asian countries. Yierkeshtan Port, a key point connecting China with Central Asia and Europe, provides FOTON with a broad development platform for its overseas expansion.
Over the years, FOTON has been stepping up its overseas expansion and deepening its cooperation with countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". Foton has involved in more than 80 projects in more than 60 countries along the "Belt and Road", with cumulative exports reaching 460,000 vehicles.
