XCMG Finalizes an Order for 200 Hydrogen Powered Heavy-duty Trucks
ERDOS, December 7 /chinatrucks.com/ -- XCMG has finalized an order for 200 hydrogen powered heavy-duty trucks in Ejin Horo Banner, the largest ever single order in the world for hydrogen powered trucks.
XCMG, together with ARES hydrogen energy, SUNRISE POWER have reached an investment agreement on new energy vehicle cooperation project with the government of Ejin Horo Banner.
With a total investment of RMB 2.3 billion, the project will be built in three phases over the next five years, covering a total area of 500 mu.
XCMG and its partner will take Erdos as the center, gradually get started the production of new energy vehicle and equipment, hydrogen fuel cell engines and intelligent mine equipment, to create a closed-loop new energy industrial chain.
Erdos is an energy town where XCMG has been expanding its market presence for many years. Since there is a great potential demand for energy intelligence and greening in Erdos, XCMG will actively develop the new energy commercial vehicle in Northwest China, and extend its sales to Central Asia.
Hydrogen is regarded as the ultimate energy of the 21st century, and will play an import role in the implementation process of "double carbon". XCMG has developed a variety of hydrogen fuel tractors and dump trucks, which are similar to traditional fuel vehicles in the operation methods and can achieve fast energy refill, long service life, zero emission and zero pollution.
XCMG hydrogen-fueled tractor can be widely used in medium and long distance transportation in complex road conditions. The range can be up to 400-500 km at one time when filled with hydrogen fuel. Therefore, it is considered to be another solution to solve mileage anxiety in addition to swapping&charging trucks.
At present, XCMG has launched nearly 30 models of pure electric charging&swapping trucks and hydrogen fuel trucks for applications in trunk highway, urban distribution, mining construction and other application scenarios. As of now, the number of vehicles in operation has reached 3000 units. By tracking these operating trucks, XCMG has obtained a wealth of operating data and provided iterative solutions accordingly.
