Over 5,000 Foton Commercial Vehicles Involved in Belt and Road Initiative
On April 24, the second Belt Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing. “Beijing High-end Manufacturing” interview was also held on the same day. Over forty journalists from the USA, Japan, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, etc. paid a special visit to Foton’s headquarter in Beijing, making a full coverage of the commercial vehicle manufacturer’s development.
At Foton AUV’s assembly workshop in Beijing, it is capable of producing diesel, natural gas, electricity, and hydrogen powered new energy buses. Foton Cummins ISF (light) engine production line boasts the world’s most advanced manufacturing technologies for producing diesel engines.
Established in 1996, Foton won the Top Commercial Vehicle Brand in China on April 30, 2005. For fourteen consecutive years, it has ranked the first place in both its production and sales in China’s commercial vehicle market. More impressively, it has ranked the first place in its production and sales for five consecutive years in the global commercial vehicle market.
As of 2018, Foton’s export volume of commercial vehicles had reached 556,000 units. As one of the pioneers in exploring the global commercial vehicle market, Foton has already established a solid presence in a number of countries.
Since China officially launched Belt Road Initiative in 2013, Foton has already completed 70 key projects with its customers in 34 countries and regions along the Road and the Belt. As of 2018, Foton had delivered over 5,000 units commercial vehicles to serve at a number of key projects, including TT railway in Senegal, Pakistan KKH road, Cambodia’s largest public transport system, etc.
