Foton Secures an Order of 100 Units Fuel Cell Logistics Vehicles
Foton has been dedicated to developing fuel cell technologies for buses and has done a great job. Recently Foton got another new breakthrough in fuel cell logistics vehicles and got the first 100-unit order.
In 2008 Foton AUV successfully developed its first generation fuel cell bus and the vehicle served Beijing Olympic Games in the same year. In 2014, it rolled out its second generation 12-meter fuel cell bus. Soon, its third generation 8.5-meter fuel cell bus made its debut and the vehicle won the first order in 2016 with 100 units for commercial operation. In 2018, 49 units 10.5-meter fuel cell buses, Foton’s fourth generation fuel cell vehicles, were delivered to Zhangjiakou for commercial operation.
In January, Foton AUV successfully secured a combined order of 100 units fuel cell buses from its customers. In Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, a customer ordered 40 units 11.5-12-meter fuel cell city buses with a total value of 119 million RMB.
On January 23, Foton, SPIC Hydrogen Energy Development Co., Ltd. and SinoHytec signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which mapped out detailed plans for the three parties cooperation in promoting fuel cell vehicles in China. According to the agreement, they will jointly produce 1,000 units fuel cell buses and build a number of hydrogen refill stations by 2022.
