1,000 Units Electric Logistic Vehicles to Hit Roads in Dongguan
www.chinatrucks.com:On July 21, Dongguan Xinwo Xingheng New Energy Vehicle Rental Service Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Dongguan Xinwo) and Dongguan Zhiding Logistic Service Co., Ltd. signed an agreement. According to the agreement, 1,000 units electric logistic vehicles will be put into operation by the end of this year.
Many logistic service providers in China have plans to introduce new energy logistic vehicles. For example, Cainiao.com reveals that it will introduce one million new energy logistic vehicles. Jingdong.com also says that it will replace all its fossil fueled vehicles with new energy vehicles in the next five years.
Dongguan Xinwo, under the management of Optimum Innovation Alliance, is chiefly involved in providing rental and sharing services of electric logistic vehicles as well as related recharging and mobile recharging services, according to Zhang Desheng, president of Dongguan Xinwo.
Zhang also reveals that truck drivers no longer need to buy vehicles. They can rent vehicles with a monthly rental fee of 4,000 RMB. Dongguan Xinwo will provide recharging, maintenance, insurance, repair services for new energy logistic vehicles.
When asked about how the vehicles meet their energy requirements, Zhang says his company is now in talk with the local government, hoping to get more assistance and supports from the government for building recharging posts, power grid, etc. In addition, the company will put 150-200 units mobile recharging vehicles on the roads to provide recharging services for those electric logistic vehicles in need.
According to the two parties’ agreement, in the next one month, the first batch of over 300 units electric trucks will start operation in Dongguan. The rest 900 units electric logistic vehicles will be put into operation step by step by the end of this year.
