560 Horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13L Engine Officially Released

 

 

Not long ago, Dongfeng Tianlong made announcements about the release of its flagship heavy-duty trucks equipped with 480 horsepower, 520 horsepower, 560 horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ engines. The news has attracted much media attention. Both customers and industrial insiders have put high expectations on Cummins ISZ 13L engines. 

 

With the new technological advances, the power of trucks has already entered “500+”era. The release of 560 horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13L engine has once again solidified its leading position in the engine-making industry. 

 

 

Boasting state-of-art design and pooling the latest technological achievements of Cummins, the 560 horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13L engine is tailor made for long-distance and efficient logistic services. Its XPI superhigh pressure jetting technology, jointly developed by Cummins and Scania, makes combustion more complete and incease the maximum jetting pressure to 2,400 bar, which greatly improves the engine’s power performance. Cummins Holset efficient supercharge and four gas valves take in more gas and improves the combustion as well. In addition, other devices, such as electronic fans and air-conditioning systems achieve high energy efficiency and help save energy consumption.  With a displacement of 13,000 ml and a maximum torque of 2,500 N.m, the 560 horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13L engine indeed represents the highest engine making technologies in China. When the rotation speed reaches 900rpm, the torque can still reach 80% of its maximum torque. When the engine starts working, the truck can still change its shift. Even working on the high altitude with full loading capacity, trucks equipped with the engine is able to reach a speed over 120 kilometers per hour. 

 

So far, the ISZ 13 L series engine products has sold 8,000 units and recorded a minimum fuel consumption 183g/kw.h. The 560 horsepower Dongfeng Cummins ISZ 13L engine has successfully passed over 40,000 hours of trial operation and well stood the tests in high altitudes or extreme temperatures. The engine is expected to hit the market in later half of this year.
