Foton AUMAN No.600,000 Heavy Truck with Weichai Engine Goes off Line
www.chinatrucks.com: On May 4, 2014, China largest engine maker Weichai Power signed new round of strategic cooperation with China biggest commercial vehicle maker Foton Motors in Foton Daimler heavy truck plant in Huairou, Beijing.
According to the agreement, the two parts will make use of their advantages to develop heavy trucks which can meet national 4 and 5 emission standards, and they will also strengthen their social responsibility to improve environment. The 600,000 Foton Auman heavy truck with Weichai engine rolled off production line on the site.
Cooperation between the two parts have been for a long time which can be dated back to 2002, and they have signed strategic cooperation in 2006 and 2008. And they have built a new development mode between two companies for integrating knowledge and innovation. The two parts absorbed the world advancing knowledges and share technology, information, management and brands and services to forge core competitiveness and explore common markets and service networks to reach double win mode. The 12-year deepening cooperation promotes sales and market shares growth for the two parts. Till now there are 600,000 Foton heavy trucks with Weichai engine and the truck can line a circle around the earth.
During the 12-year cooperation, the emission standard is from national 2 to national 4 and the products can fully meet the requirement and the two parts drive development of heavy truck industry by innovation, matching related technology. The Foton trucks with Weichai engine can save 3-5L petrol than like trucks and one truck can save as much as 3000L a year. And the 600,000 heavy trucks' saved petrol can fuel 10,000 heavy trucks to run for eight years.
