Italians Test Generate Power from “Truck Wind”
www.chinatrucks.com : Italian media reported a test held by authorities that carried out on expressways to generate electricity by the wind caused by trucks. The preliminary results are satisfactory, and the authority has decided to hold further tests.
The idea of generating electricity by “truck wind” was from three young men, who claimed that trucks caused heavy winds on expressways, which could be utilized. They started a company and signed an agreement with the government, who approved them for the test. Results from the test proved the idea is realistic.
In last May, the company set up the first device in Venice. Through calculation, they came to the conclusion that the device is able to generate enough electricity for the use of one household.
The national power of the country has decided to invest 250,000 Euros in this young company for them to carry out further tests. And another 400,000 Euros investment will be implemented shall the test results are satisfactory.
