The winner of the East China semi-final, Jiao Yipin, has very rich driving experience. He has got the third place in 2012 China Final. When talking about his second time participating in the Fuelwatch Competition, he showed great pleasure and shared with his experience: “To be shortlisted in such a competitive competition is great encouragement for me. I cherish this opportunity and I think it is a good communication platform, as well as a learning platform. To make friends with different drivers from different places broadens my horizon and is very impressive in my life.”
Currently, logistics industry in East China features “Special Line” and “Express”, and is becoming more specialized, intensified and information-based. As operation safety and timeliness are becoming the core competitiveness for logistics industry in the future, logistics companies in East China will require higher performance from trucks efficiency, stability and automated management, which means that they will not only require to realize fuel-efficiency, but also lay more emphasis on truck life cycle and scientific management.
According to event data, the best record of East China semi-final is 25.17L/100km. In such a competitive competition, the first place contestant saved 10L in fuel costs than the last place contestant. Statistics shows that the first place contestant could save RMB 7,700 worth of fuel costs for the company if a truck runs 20,000 kilometers monthly and the price of fuel is valued at RMB7.77 per liter. As it can be seen, trucks and the driving behaviors of truck drivers are relevant to impacts on the efficiency and profitability of Chinese logistics companies.
Volvo FH Time Machine Limited Edition
Volvo Trucks Time Machine Limited Edition, being unveiled for the first time in China, becomes a highlight in the FH series by its unique design and fuel-efficiency solutions. The perfect line of Time Machine represents the golden age of Volvo Trucks historical development. In 1956, Volvo introduced its first forward control truck Snabbe, marking the world’s first truck equipped with a turbocharger and initiating a truck turbo era. Volvo Trucks FH’s reliability for decades makes it the legend in long-distance transportation. This year, to celebrate its leadership in road transportation for 85 years, Volvo Trucks launches Time Machine Limited Edition, an upgraded version of Volvo FH, which implements advanced technology on both standard and optional components.
Volvo Trucks Open Driver Training
Guided by company’s core value of ‘Safety, Quality and Environmental Care’ and company’s full commitment to customers, Volvo Trucks has organized the Fuelwatch Competition in China for five consecutive years, helping thousands of Chinese truck drivers improve their skills on safety and fuel-saving driving. Fuel saving could impact on both logistics companies and environmental protection of the entire society. Increasing fuel-efficiency not only saves money for truck owners but also improves truck drivers fuel-saving skills and income. Volvo Trucks drivers are not new to fuel-saving and driving behavior training, since Volvo Trucks offers customers customized training packages based on their needs. Since last year, Volvo Trucks Open Driver Training sessions also opened to non-Volvo Trucks drivers and had won warm praise from participants. There were 45 classes in total offered by Volvo Trucks in 2012 and more than 2000 drivers have received and benefitted from the training. Besides, every driver can participate in “Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Ambassador “online voting through sharing his experience and stories in fuel-saving. The selected Fuelwatch Ambassador will have the opportunity to watch the Volvo Trucks Asia-Pacific Final with winner of China final. This year, the newly designed “Talent Driver” program aims to provide a platform for truck drivers to reveal their talents and spirits, and encourage more passion for their road transportation work.
Volvo Trucks is committed to push forward care for truck drivers within logistics industry and the entire society. Respecting drivers’ work and caring about their daily life best embody Volvo’s human care. The product design and services provided are all designed with “driver in focus”.
