DFAC to Launch First EV in Second Half of 2013
www.chinatrucks.com: Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (DFAC)’s two-seater full electric urban commuter Fengshen E30 EV will be officially launched in the second half of 2013, reported d1ev.com.
The E30 EV debuted as the Dongfeng EJ02 at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2011. It changed the name to Dongfeng EV1 in early 2012 and arrived at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2012 as Fengshen E30.
The Fengsshen E30 EV is a small electric city car that will compete with the Roewe E50 EV that was launched on the Chinese car market in November last year.
The E30 EV features its aluminum alloy shell which brings the car’s weight down to between 770 and 850 kg.
According to Liu Yuchun, vice president of the passenger company of Dongfeng, the electric two-seater has a top speed of 80 km/h and a drive range of 110 to 150 km. It takes 8 hours to charge the Li-iron phosphate batteries to full. Battery cycle life is 1,500 times.
The EV product has won China’s national technology innovation grants as a micro battery electric vehicle development project.
The EV was listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s catalogue of recommended energy-saving and new energy vehicles in November 2011.
