First Batch of China-made IVECO Trucks to be Exported in Dec.
www.chinatrucks.com: The first batch of Hongyan Genlyon heavy-duty trucks manufactured by SAIC-IVECO-Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co. will be exported to Africa and the Middle East with IVECO nameplates in December.
Based on the export strategy of SAIC-IVECO-Hongyan and the overseas production plan of IVECO, the two companies jointly launched the whole vehicle export project, codenamed as “682” in September 2012.
Trucks selected in the “682” project, as other Hongyan Genlyon models, are produced and assembled under European standards with all vehicles adopting English language operating platforms. These trucks receive tests and adjustments by experts from IVECO after rolling off the production line and are authorized to bear the “IVECO” plate.
According to SAIC-IVECO-Hongyan, the export models of the Genlyon and those sold domestically are produced under the same standards with no obvious changes in adoption of equipment. The company has obtained orders of more than 1,000 units of IVECO heavy-duty trucks. Of the total, 660 units have been produced and passed the evaluation of Chongqing Commodity Inspection and Testing Bureau, and are ready for shipment in December.
Equipped with the C9380 engine of SAIC Fiat Powertrain Hongyan Co., Ltd., the IVECO heavy-duty trucks ordered including 6x4 trailers and 6x4 self-dumpers will be exported to East Africa, North Africa, West Africa and the Middle East. In 2013, orders for the Hongyan Genlyon 682 models will reach more than 4,000 units.
