Suppliers for Dongfeng Auto Shall Meet Standards of Environment Management System
www.chinatrucks.com. On the promotion meeting of green supply chain construction held on Oct. 29, Dongfeng Auto revealed that all the parts and material suppliers shall pass the certification of ISO14000 environment management system by the end of 2014. This is a move of Dongfeng to realize the concept of “the whole value chain for green design, green supply, green manufacture and green sales”. Coming after the “ECO LIVE” at Shanghai auto show and Beijing auto show, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Corporation is now devoting itself in the construction of green supply chain.
It is said that Dongfeng would not make purchase from suppliers who fail to pass the certification of ISO14000 environment management system within the next two years. Meanwhile, all the suppliers are required to improve the internal management and strengthen the awareness of environmental protection, safety and energy efficiency. Production costs will be further lowered and the foreign and domestic market share for parts will be expanded.
Presently, as the growth of macro economy slows, the medium and heavy truck market is heading to a downward trend. With the construction of green supply chain, Dongfeng will be more precise in management and lower the cost to ensure the development in this micro growth phase; on the other hand, this move of construction will reserve more strength for the long term cooperation for Dongfeng and suppliers.
