New Joint Venture Products between CNHTC and MAN Will Be Released in 2013

Since the contract was signed in 2009 between CNHTC and MAN, the two parties have been working on the development of TGA trucks and D08, D20 and D26 engines that meet the discharge demands of Euro III, Euro IV and Euro V. As Yu introduced, the production line of MAN in the Zhangqiu Industrial park has begun to take shape, with modification by German experts, the production has been provide with the technical capability for the production of a whole vehicle.

The MAN truck launched this time enjoys technical equality with German MAN. Not only the engine, axle, driving cabinet and frame also reached synchronization. Yu revealed that engines, frames, driving cabinets and axles would be produced domestically next year, with some key spare parts being import, such as bent axle and connecting rod. The import will not influence the cost and the domestically produced vehicles will be more competitive than import vehicles.

For the much concerned issue of lightweight trucks, Yu gave a positive answer: “The lightweight of trucks should not be merely realized through reduction of configuration and the weight of steel, but by adopting new technologies and processes.” Meanwhile, safety is always an issue that CNHTC pays its attention to. This launch of MAN truck will also place safety with importance and produce lightweight trucks according to Chinese market.

To provide the best services, Yu said that from the end of 2012, CNHTC would select some truck users to have test drives of MAN. Further adjustments will be made according to the feedback and the real needs from clients, which will help produce trucks that meet the demands of localization. The aim of launching tractors this time is to complement the shortage of heavy vehicles, to restructure and enrich the heavy truck production line.

The introduction of D08, D20 and D26 engine has paved the way for CNHTC to pass Euro III, Euro IV and Euro V and provided stable technique supports in the following 20 years.
