www.chinatrucks.com: With new solutions Burg Silvergreen constructed the Curtain SG03 with low tare weight, stable structure and high degree of flexibility. Additionally, it offers a maximum of loading area and various load securing solutions.
The new Burg Silvergreen Curtainsider SG03 is a light weight: with less than 6 t tare weight it can be considered a light trailer. At the same time and with an admissible gross weight of 42 t it is a heavy duty vehicle in the class of standard curtainsiders. The engineers succeeded in combining light built and stability by consistently applying different materials and making use of their qualities, with constructive solutions regarding the modular kit and by making finite element calculations. Milan Strmecki, responsible for sales, product and quality management at Burg Silvergreen, states: ″With the Curtain SG03 we offer customers a maximum of load capacity, flexibility and user-friendliness. This improves profitability and is beneficial for the environment.″
In order to achieve this, Burg Silvergreen engineers integrated numerous innovations in the new curtainsider, starting with the modular mounted welded ladder-type frame. The top flange, for example, is designed as top-hat profile and, at the same time, serves as support for the floor. This reduces the frame weight and makes the frame more solid as well. Furthermore, the floor lies at a lower level and the loading lip is lower which results in an increased loading height. At 4.0 m total height and 1,080 mm fifth wheel height the Curtain SG03 has a clear internal height of 2,765 mm. The frame offers various options for load securing without additional drills for storage or tool boxes. The environmentally friendly ACC coating is a long-term protection against corrosion. The quality of this coating technology results in 15 years of guarantee against corrosion for all Burg Silvergreen vehicles. Marc Meylaers, Managing DIrector and CEO at Burg Silvergreen: „All our products are premium-vehicles und include a 2-year warranty plus basic breakdown protection.“
Other innovations can be found in the solid steel outer frame. The profile offers a variety of anchor points thanks to regular slots on the outside. These are designed for lashing capacities of 2000 daN. Additionally, the grooves of the outer frame at the side of the vehicle offer 13 anchor points. Upon request, spray-proof anchor points with 2500 daN lashing capacity are available, which are also integrated into the profile. Existing anchoring points in the outer frame allow a simple mounting of pallet limiting rail, tarp hooking rail or side panel hinge. Thus, the vehicle can be retrofitted to meet new requirements. This increases flexibility in use, improves load utilisation, is more economic and beneficial for the environment.
The floor of the Curtain SG03 is fitted as standard with a capacity load of 7.2 t. Additional cross beams at the rear support this zone, which is particularly strained during the loading and unloading process. Optional, the Curtain SG03 can be equipped with the aluminium load securing floor developed by Burg Silvergreen. It is not only lighter but also offers additional load securing options and has a non-slip surface. Seven rows of load securing rails integrated into the floor allow the use of locking beams, adapters of lashing straps or wedges for paper rolls.
The body has even more innovations to offer. The front corner stanchionsare made from one single profile. This reduces weight on one hand, and makes the corner posts stable on the other hand. The load can be secured with 1,000daN per anchoring point at the front wall. The rear has a clear width of 2,480 mm. Pallets and wire crates can be loaded on the entire loading area, up to the portal area.
At the start of distribution three body variants will be available: curtain sider, curtain sider with board wall and TIR full tarp. All three versions are fitted as standard with a sliding roof and in the case of the curtainsider version even with a Carapax roof tarp. The texture of the tarpaulin with diagonal threads fulfils the load securing standard DIN EN 12642 XL without additional load securing straps. The roof frame containing the sliding roof and the side curtains have been newly developed by Burg Silvergreen. The profile is apt for sliding roofs from different manufacturers. New ball bearing curtain rollers with additional supporting rollers allow an easy opening and closing of the curtain.
The curtainsider Curtain SG03 has a load securing certificate for the curtain and the boardwall version according to EN 12642 XL. Burg Silvergreen offers numerous load securing options which meet the requirements for paper, beverage or automotive transport.
The curtainsider SG03 is not only safe, economic and environmentally friendly. It will also make fleets look nicer. Even from a distance it can be recognized immediately as a typical Burg Silvergreen vehicle due to the elaborated product design. Key components in this respect are the elegantly shaped and still practical plastic roof hood at the front and the characteristic light carrier in the rear. The curved lines of the light carrier represent the driving force and innovative spirit of the young enterprise and is reflected in all designs by Burg Silvergreen.
Apart from the three mentioned body variants, Burg Silvergreen will be able to offer a mega variant for volume transports as well as a model with lifting roof in the future.
