VISTA 2012/13 Kicks-Off

www.chinatrucks.com: VISTA – Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ world championship for service and workshop personnel – is once again about to begin, with 121 teams currently registered in China and 14,000 participants estimated to join in globally. 


VISTA 2012/13 Kick-off ceremony 

August 20th 2012, Beijing China. Open to all aftersales employees within the Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ global service network, VISTA 2012/13 (Volvo International Service Training Award) has already assembled 121 registered teams from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan by August 17th 2012, greatly exceeding the number of teams, 79 in total, that participated in VISTA 2011/12. Recently, Volvo Trucks hosted the kick-off ceremony and a steering meeting in Beijing for the Volvo VISTA 2012/13 competition, which included introducing the coming VISTA 2012/13 and the team managers presenting their plans. 
 
VISTA aims to improve and enhance employees’ professional knowledge, skills, and teamwork competence. The competition allows employees to form teams of up to four people. After three rounds of questionnaire and semi-finals, the competition culminates with the World Final, which will be held in June 2013. According to statistics, each participant who completed the first three rounds receives around 90 hours of extra training, which means that Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses have conducted roughly 375,000 hours of training globally.

Therefore it strongly contributes to our vision of becoming a Customer Company,” says Claes Nilsson, President, Volvo Trucks. “Every participant, no matter how experienced they are, will learn something new, and this is why it continues to be so successful. VISTA is more than a competition – it’s a mass training event and an enjoyable team building exercise. VISTA 2012-2013 won’t be any different.”

During the steering meeting, Eric Labat, President of Volvo Trucks China, said:

VISTA provides an ideal platform for our dealers and for us to improve on and communicate skills, enabling us to maintain competetiveness and offer superior services. The essence of VISTA is to provide training courses to Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses’ aftersales employees, through which we hope they can improve their professinal knowledge and skills by participating in this event and are pround of their achievments.”

VISTA 2011 involved over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries, including 79 teams from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Beijing Walker, the winner of the China competition ranked second in the Asia semi-finals. Contestants from VISTA 2011/12 indicated that what they had gained the enhancement of their skills and a stronger sense of teamwork. Mr. Du Zhou, a team member of Beijing Walker, said, “I am able to learn professional skills in different areas that I am not familiar with before. Usually, we work as individuals, and having a team working style and knowing more of each other have been so wonderful. Huang Wei added:“During the competition we are able to learn faster than before. It does not only save time, but also imporves effieciency, which help us deal with our tasks. VISTA is one of the very best ways to improve our professinal skills. ”
