Sales of Foton vehicles down 10.7% in May

www.chinatrucks.com: Foton released their sales data on June 13, and 50,500 vehicles were sold in May, down 10.7% over last year and down 14% over April, and 44,700 vehicles were produced, down 10.3% over last year and down 16% over April.
And the production and sales volumes of all kinds of Foton vehicles were 277,700 units and 285,500 units, down 5.4% and 7%.
We can see from the data that sales of Foton vehicles may keep decrease in future, and just 6,839 medium and heavy trucks were sold, down 39.63% over last year, and this is the core business of Foton.
Zhao Jingguang, deputy secretary of Foton Motors, was quoted as saying that sales booming for commercial vehicles is over and Foton is considering to produce more passenger cars.
For sales of engines, 12,400 engines and 12,600 units were produced and sold in May, and the sales growth is slowing down.
