www.chinatrucks.com: April 23rd 2012, Beijing China. At the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Volvo Trucks hosts the debut of its new Volvo FMX, presenting this new model’s rugged outlook and powerful equipment to the public. It demonstrates Volvo Trucks’ ambition to enter into China’s booming construction and mining markets so as to further expand its business territory.

The most obvious change with the new, high-clearance Volvo FMX is its robust, modern exterior. With a new upper grill, aggressive lower front, 3-part steel bumper with 3 mm thick steel corners, rugged skid plate and protective bull bar, this is a tough construction truck. For additional functionality, the Volvo FMX also features a powerful tow hook, headlamp mesh protection, new anti-slip steps and a convenient ladder – just to name a few examples.

Mr. Eric Labat, President of Volvo Trucks China, is very proud of the new FMX’s preview in China. “Volvo Trucks has been leading in China’s imported heavy-duty truck market by providing high quality products and vast after-sales services network. We have also noticed a huge demand for professional services in construction and mining both globally and in China and the new Volvo FMX is our solution to satisfy the customer demand in the specific market segments. We are pleased to debut this new model at the Beijing International Autoshow and it will be launched in China market very soon.”

During the 12th Five-Year Plan, the Chinese government will increase its support to the development of mining, energy, hydraulic engineering and infrastructure. Fixed assets investment in mining in 2012 is expected to have an annual increase of 20%, far outpacing other countries, according to statistics from January to November of 2011. The excellent performance of the new FMX in design, outlook, power, fuel-consumption, safety, efficiency, controllability and others will surely satisfy demands from customers in construction and mining segments. It is revealed that many new features on the new Volvo FMX have been inspired by feedbacks and suggestions from drivers.
