Volvo Trucks 2011 “One Million Kilometers without Overhaul” Customer Award Unveils
www.chinatrucks.com: Today, Volvo Trucks announced its 2011 customer list whose Volvo Trucks have achieved “One Million Kilometers without Overhaul” record. In total, there are 14 trucks adds to the One Million Kilometers without Overhaul fleet, one of which hit the record of close to 2.1 million kilometers from Anhui Nan Bei Logistics Co., Ltd (“NBL”).
Those records originate from Volvo Trucks’ reliable products and considerate after-sales services. The main part of overhaul is the engine overhaul, which illustrates the importance of a good engine to the good performance of a truck. Volvo Trucks uses an inline six-cylinder turbocharged design for its engine that has become a reliable standard of the industry. The engine crankshaft has seven main bearings and can withstand peak pressures.
Users of high-performance trucks most fear situations in which there are “no major problems, but no end to the stream of small problems.” Improper driving and improper maintenance, as well as weak understanding of truck structure and spare parts mean that small things can cause frequent minor problems. Volvo Trucks provides fully advanced maintenance technologies and customer care services for the purpose of prevention. This includes VOSP, as well as the inventory of 15,000 spare parts in an accessible warehouse. The Volvo Trucks’ 44 nationwide dealers with its maintenance staffs work in 24-hour in order to ensure a timely response for drivers of Volvo Trucks.
Looking at the new list, Mr. Eric Labat, the President of Volvo Trucks Greater China expressed his happiness: “These trucks are a wonderful representation of the essence of Volvo. Their reliable high quality allows our customers to reduce the costs spent on maintenance. From vehicle maintenance to the continuous testing of materials, Volvo Trucks operates on a philosophy of ‘customers-oriented services’, which has helped gain the trust of users, and won the trust of customers. It’s not difficult to reach the record of one million kilometres for Volvo Trucks and we hope more and more of our trucks will join in the fleet.”
Mr. Fang Zhengui, the owner of the Volvo Trucks topping this year’s list, and the Managing Director & General Manager of Nan Bei Logistics Co, Ltd. said: “ Since we have begun providing transportation services by Volvo Trucks, our business has grown steadily—after all, Volvo Trucks enhances our confidence in delivering goods within 18 hours we commit to our customers. Our customers have stated that they are very satisfied with the services provided as well as the speed at which they are provided.”
It is said that Volvo Trucks helps NBL reduce their maintenance costs by 2%. Facing with such an energetic yet challenging market caused by increasingly high fuel costs, a larger investment of human and resource costs and dispensed profits due to increasingly competitions, Volvo Trucks is offering a full range of services, including driving training, fuel-saving training, fleet management consulting, 24-hour services, and more to help customers achieve greater efficiency and lower costs.
During this Eleventh Five Year period, national turnover of road transportation rose by 394.7%. At the same time, China’s highway transportation industry faces a number of challenges. The transformation and upgrading of the industry puts pressure on industry related companies for offering more competitive products and services. Energy conservation and emissions reductions are being implemented vigorously, and stricter standards for road safety work are as well. Currently, the situation on China’s roads is such that overloaded and overweight trucks cause more major accidents on China’s roads. On December 31, 2011, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security jointly issued “Regarding the further improvement of large and medium-sized commercial vehicles to enhance vehicle safety technology and registration management,” which stated that heavy-duty vehicles should be equipped with retarder or other auxiliary braking devices. Additionally, dangerous goods vehicles above 12 tonnes should be equipped with speed-limiting devices, as well as front disc brakes. Prior to February 29, heavy-duty trucks, dangerous goods vehicles, and other vehicles underwent focused reviews that attempted to improve vehicle safety.
Responding to the current situation in the market and of the road safety, Volvo Trucks’ market strategy is providing the best overall safety and high quality truck and Total Transport Solutions. Volvo Trucks’ safety products would well accommodate relevant needs in China’s logistics industry. Some of these include the ACC (automatic cruise system), the EBS (electronic brake disc system), the Globetrotter cab, LCS (lane changing system), LKS (lane keeping system), DAS (driver alert support), and others. These tools provide drivers with the most user-safe means of transport.
Since Volvo Trucks are guaranteed of high performance, the focus becomes how to improve the fuel economy of the trucks. Thus, professional after-sales services and the provision of spare parts and lubricants become critical in order to ensure the consistent good operation conditions of trucks.
A Million Miles without Overhaul with A Million Miles’ prosperous business– this is the hope of Volvo Trucks and all our customers!
