Peterson wins supplier excellence award from Caterpillar
www.chinatrucks.com: Peterson Manufacturing has won the 2010 Supplier Quality Excellence Process Award from Caterpillar. Peterson earned the award by meeting and exceeding eight stringent business performance metrics established by Cat.
Certification for this award was completed in November 2010, with Caterpillar officials personally delivering the honour to their local headquarters recently. Peterson is the first and only lighting supplier to earn this recognition, according to Steve Meagher, vice-president of Sales.
"It's great that our dedicated team has been recognized," Meagher said. "We value our 25-year relationship with Caterpillar."
Specifically, the award recognizes accomplishment in what Caterpillar calls MQ-11005 certification. The certification closely analyzes and evaluates internal quality controls, processes, shipping performance, and capacity planning, among other criteria.
"Every day, our organization strives to satisfy and exceed customer expectations," Meagher said. "That means everyone from shipping to engineering to sales all share the same passion and commitment. This award is confirmation from a global giant in manufacturing that we're meeting that daily challenge."
Peterson supplies Caterpillar with a variety of industrial lighting needs.
"We fully intend to be at the front of the line when the 2011 suppliers are recognized. We're more committed now than ever to be number one in the industry," Meagher said.
