Foton Auman 2nd plant to become global largest heavy truck manufacturer base
(chinatrucks.com, Jan 18, 2011) Foton medium and heavy truck adventure program is settled in Huairou. It is learned by reporter that the “Foton Auman” heavy truck 2nd plant program invested by Foton and Daimler has been completed nearly 90%, and the overall area construction will be finished by the middle term of Jan in 2011.
Auman 2nd plant program is an important engineer for Foton to realize the globalization process development. The investment of the program is about 260 million Euros, and it has taken 495,000 square meters and it will mainly establish welding plant, coating plant, assembly plant, chassis workshop, commissioning workshop and test shop as well as distribution center. Moreover, the assembly plant has owned the longest assembly line in China.
The program is mainly producing Auman H4 and current CTX and ETX high end heavy truck products after the program has been completed. The annual capacities of the program are 80,000 and the maximum capacities are 100,000 per year. After Auman 2nd plant has been completed, heavy truck annual capacities in Huairou area will reach 160,000. It will become the largest heavy truck manufacturer base in China.
