Volkswagen AG to produce low cost truck in China
(chinatrucks.com, Sep 21, 2010) Volkswagen AG plans to produce low cost truck in China because it has found that the small truck in China is quite popular, at the moment, commercial vehicle business has been pulled back steadily, and it has created a very excellent opportunity for Volkswagen AG to sell low cost truck in China.
It is disclosed by comprehensive media on Sep 20th 2010 that CEO of commercial vehicle department of Volkswagen AG, Wolfgang Schreiber announces that Volkswagen AG plans to produce low cost truck in China.
It is announced by Volkswagen AG that commercial vehicle business is steadily growing at the moment since the economy crash has attacked China market in 2009. It is predicted that the sales volumes of China commercial vehicle department of Volkswagen AG has reached 45,000 in 2010, and the sales volume in 2009 was 35,000.
Volkswagen AG China Company is to rapidly increase the production volume of successful vehicle Amarok. The maximum annual production volume in Argentina is 100,000. Maximum annual production volume of European commercial vehicle is 40,000. Russia and Australia will begin to produce commercial vehicle of Volkswagen AG in 2012.
Schreiber said it is very good news to headquarter of Volkswagen AG, and it could create more than 500 working post.
