ISUZU to establish global procurement center in Chongqing
(chinatrucks.com, June 8, 2010) ISUZU is to establish global procurement center in Chongqing, and the center will mainly provide engine to global ISUZU auto.
It is learned by reporter that Qingling Auto Shares Company Limited and ISUZU Auto Company have established Qingling Engine Company in 2007. Moreover, global procurement center of ISUZU Auto selects Chongqing as the center location and lots of auto engines at global market of ISUZU will be produced by Qingling.
Annual production volume of Qingling Auto in 2009 has reached 40,000. It is predicted that the annual production volume of Qingling Auto will reach 60,000 in 2010, and will reach 120,000 in 2012.
Chongqing will open the fixed route of rail container to Europe in 2010, and then it will take 11 days from Chongqing exported to Amsterdam in Holland, and German hamburg, and the like. It will save the engine exported cost of Chongqing ISUZU Auto global procurement center. At the same time, the labor cost in Chongqing is relative lower, which has reduced the production cost of auto engine. The mentioned above factors will make ISUZU auto more competitive at international market.
