(chinatrucks.com, March 24,2010) It is reported that JAC has issued an announcement about a branch office establishment for commercial vehicle in Qingzhou city, Shangdong Province, which is invested for light Van program of capacity expansion.
The spokesman from JAC marketing department said: “Besides the market consideration, the ‘car to the countryside’policy is a big catalyst. The sales target after capacity expansion is going to meet 180,000, up to 200,000.”
Domestic light truck market consists of two parts, one is high-end market based on urban logistics, and the other is low-end mainly in countryside. Moreover, economic light truck will mainly meet the demand of rural-urban fringe zone and countryside, which occupy 2/3 market share.
Foton is still the leader, with 380,000 sales in 2009 and occupying 24.61% market share. Dongfeng and JAC are the next two runners, with almost balance growing speed to the industry. JAC is currently investing in Shangdong province, and occupying the northern market, which is going to intensify the market race of economic truck.
