Volvo Group Won the "Top 50 Green Companies" Award in China
Sustainability is one of the key components of the Volvo Group's development strategy as well as the driving force for Volvo's technology innovation and improvement. Recently the Volvo Group has won the "Top 50 Green Companies" Award in China as one of the leading suppliers of commercial transport solutions. Moreover, by virtue of hybrid technology for heavy vehicles, the Volvo Group has also been awarded by "Top 10 Green Products/Solutions" Prize. The unique double is not only the recognition for the Volvo Group's green campaign, but also an encouragement to further sustainable development in the future.
The award was prudently assessed by Business Watch Magazine's evaluation committee on "Top 50 Green Companies", with reference on internet voting and exclusive readers' opinions. The "Top 50 Green Companies" Award was initiated by Business Watch Magazine, which is a leading business news weekly publication in mainland China, with prominent influential reputation for its insight into domestic economy and business prospect.
Ms. Lansi Jiang, Vice President of the Volvo Group China, said "The award sheds light on that green and sustainability have been widely accredited in China. I am very proud that the Volvo Group wins two significant awards, which is a confirmation for Volvo's persistent effort on environmental care and development, as well as the Volvo's role in business and society."
Quality, safety and environmental care are the core values of the Volvo Group in the past decades. 3 years ago, the Volvo Group launched hybrid technology solution for heavy vehicles. In 2008, the Volvo Group showcased the fourth-generation hybrid solution in buses, trucks and construction equipments. Moreover, the Volvo Group has pioneered seven commercial vehicles with zero emission of carbon dioxide during transporation.
Nowadays, with the development of green energy solution and gradual application of carbon dioxide neutral plants, the Volvo Group has further stabilized its sustainable development. Volvo Brand China Road Show 09' has brisked people's lifestyle into a greener way. Volvo, as an avant-courier with original green technologies, is believed to bring more green innovations blazing the path, leading all the way in the future.
