FAW Begins to Expand in Russian Market
FAW has exported more than 2000 commercial vehicles and more than 5000 cars since last year. Their strategy to expand in Russia has begun to work. Now, FAW group is constructing sales networks with local dealers and the products sold in Russia are mainly dump trucks. The price-cost ratio of FAW trucks is so high that local dealers have made much profit from their businesses. Representative of FAW says many dealers from Moscow and St. Petersburg are contacting FAW Russia Market Department trying to cooperate with them. Besides exporting to Russia, FAW has exported their trucks to Africa, America, Southeast Asia and other areas.
FAW advanced technical expert Mr. Wu Bilei says FAW Jiefang Series of trucks are developed according to the standard of Europe commercial vehicles so they can be accepted by Russia customers in a much easier way. Advanced engineer Mr. Guo Liqun says Jiefang series truck has the advantages in braking, safety, displacement and many other areas. Mrs. Guo says the appearance and performance of Jiefang trucks are also loved by Russia market.
The major problem FAW concern is how to build their after-service networks. Mr. Wu Bilei says they are not worrying about the quality of FAW trucks but how to do their after-sale service work well enough.
At the same time, FAW is inclining to build assembling factories in Russia however the policies of Russia government are not stable and the application to build assembling factory in Russia has not gotten the approval of Russian Government.
